Somethin’ fishy at QT…

You heard right, there’s a new sandwich in the house at QT Vietnamese Sandwich, our favorite Banh Mi joint in the city.  Banh Mi (aka Vietnamese Hoagie), if you haven’t heard, is a product of the French colonization of Vietnam.  A perfect melding of pork, pate, a little mayo, cut by acidity of shredded pickled carrots, cucumber, jalapenos and cilantro all nested in warm a crusty french baguette. QT has a cult following of devoted eaters that can’t help but flock towards the glow of its orange walls for multiple lunches a week, and for the quality of food, low prices and friendly owners it’s no wonder why.

As the picture reveals the new sandwiches main component is sardines! The sardines are the canned in tomato sauce type, with a hint of soy sauce, onion and sriracha.  The savory fish works well with the sweet pickled carrots and actually makes for a pretty light sandwich.  Just pick up some after lunch mints if you’re planning on talking to anyone afterwards!

YUM. This sandwich is a must try for you pescitarians and banh mi enthusiasts, generally for anyone that likes tasty things. QT Vietnamese Sandwich- right after the Greyhound Station heading to Chinatown on 10th St.  See you there! (seriously, Mark and I go at least once a week)

I love pork bun is a gastronomical adventure between two friends in Philadelphia. Luckily for their respective significant others they both possess resilient metabolisms.
